Nucor Steel West Virginia is seeking a Cold Mill Production Day Supervisor who will have the opportunity and challenge to lead a brand-new Cold Mill Operating Team and to leverage the most advanced Tandem Cold Mill, Batch Annealing, and Temper Rolling processes in the world. We will be expanding beyond traditional product portfolios into the most demanding, high-value market segments, continuing Nucor’s history of innovation and growth. The Cold Mill Production Day Supervisor will be responsible for building and sustaining an uncompromisingly strong safety culture through engaged leadership, supported by disciplined processes and the newest technology. Through a clear focus on quality, uptime, team performance, and cost, you will be expected to help build the most reliable and profitable Cold Mill in the industry. This position will be responsible for executing divisional and departmental strategies, and for leading the day-to-day production operations of the Cold Mill. The Day Supervisor will also help guide the development of a world-class operations team by coaching teammates, driving technical learning, and building strong decision-making capability. This role requires a leader who thrives in fast-paced environments and who enjoys solving complex problems while developing and empowering our team to think interdependently and critically. Supervisors will be a critical link in communication, coordinating with operations teammates, maintenance, automation, engineering, contractors, and other departments to ensure safe, stable, and aligned operations. One-team leadership is essential, and we are seeking a leader who models ownership, accountability, humility, and the resilience needed to navigate the challenges of commissioning and ramp-up. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; teammates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies and housekeeping standards at all times.

Requirements

  • 5 years of leadership/supervisory experience in an advanced manufacturing environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience leading startup or major transformation efforts (greenfield, brownfield, or large capital deployment).
  • Strong technical understanding of cold rolling processes, metallurgy, and/or automation.
  • Understanding of construction and/or commissioning and project execution principles.
  • Experience leading Tandem Cold Mill, Temper Mill, and/or Batch Annealing operations.
