Basic Job Functions:The Cold Mill Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for troubleshooting and repairing water systems, hydraulic systems, and mechanical components, as well as participating in and leading preventive and predictive maintenance programs. A successful candidate will demonstrate Nucor’s core values while focusing on safety, equipment reliability, cost control, and continuous improvement. This position requires working rotating shifts and overtime, both scheduled and unscheduled. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Minimum of 4 years of steel mill mechanical maintenance experience
  • Willingness to work shift, scheduled and unscheduled overtime, including nights, weekends and/or holidays

Nice To Haves

  • Formal mechanical maintenance training and / or degree
  • Prior Industrial Mechanical Maintenance experience
