About the position

The Applications Development Analyst (Advanced) role is designed for a skilled professional who will manage advanced development tasks, cloud migration, and provide technical support while integrating applications across various departments. The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise in ColdFusion, SQL, and cloud technologies to enhance the client's application landscape and promote best practices within the organization.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with the migration of existing code to cloud platforms.
• Providing strategic design recommendations to align with long-term IT goals.
• Creating enterprise-level applications and custom integrations, including major system enhancements and features.
• Developing automated systems across multiple platforms to meet customer needs and integrating applications within the client.
• Determining requirements, planning, designing, and developing critical software solutions, either independently or as part of a team.
• Assisting in resolving complex technical support issues.
• Establishing and following standards for development and promoting code reuse.
• Utilizing modern programming languages and object-oriented approaches for design, coding, testing, and debugging.
• Applying best practices and modern development methodologies consistently.
• Staying up-to-date with new technologies and assessing their potential use within the organization.
• Conducting code reviews as needed to ensure quality and adherence to standards.
• Acting as a technical consultant, mentor, and change agent across multiple disciplines within the client.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in design and development with ColdFusion.
• Experience working with JavaScript, Oracle, and SQL Server in an N-tier architecture.
• Proficiency in Solaris and Bash for scripting needs.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in cloud development.
• Strong background in object-oriented development techniques.
• Knowledge and experience in database design and development, particularly with Oracle and SQL Server, along with SQL tuning skills.
• Previous experience as a project leader or in a technical expert/lead role, with involvement in high-complexity projects.
• Proficiency in Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
• Experience supporting production deployments and handling deployment-related troubleshooting.
• Involvement in Incident Full Kit (IFK) meetings to refine product backlogs and estimate work for incidents.
• Experience with Azure DevOps for version control, collaboration, and continuous integration.
