About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled IBM Cognos Analytics 11 Developer to join our Business Intelligence team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust BI solutions that transform data into actionable insights. This role demands strong analytical capabilities, expertise in data modeling, and a deep understanding of Cognos reporting tools.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
8+ years of experience in Cognos BI development.
Strong proficiency in IBM Cognos Analytics 11, Framework Manager, and SQL.
Experience with data warehousing and ETL processes.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

Experience with other BI tools and platforms.
Knowledge of cloud-based BI solutions.
Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.

Responsibilities

Understand BI requirements and design data models using Framework Manager and Data Modules.
Build interactive dashboards and visual reports using Cognos Dashboards. Use charts, lists, cross-tabs, and maps to create comprehensive reporting solutions.
Identify and monitor key performance indicators aligned with business goals.
Analyze data and deliver insights to support strategic and operational decisions.
Translate business needs into technical specs and estimate development timelines.
Develop models, publish packages, and implement security protocols for report access.
Use macros, prompts, filters, and calculations to create dynamic reports. Implement drill-throughs, master-detail relationships, bookmarks, and page sets.
Support data warehouse development and enhance existing ETL processes.
Execute SQL queries for data validation and optimize report performance.
Apply technical improvements to existing BI systems for better functionality.
Utilize relational and multidimensional database design principles in BI development.
Demonstrate hands-on experience with Cognos Analytics 11, including Data Modules and Dashboarding.
