About The Position

The Cognitive Performance Specialist at LMR Technical Group is responsible for training Soldiers to enhance their cognitive skills for optimal performance in training and operations, ultimately improving overall readiness. This role involves managing and providing education based on cognitive performance and tailored training programs for individuals and teams, working closely with the H2F Performance Team to ensure synchronization with training calendars.

Requirements

  • Master's degree or Doctoral degree in any field from an accredited college or university with licensure as a psychologist and proficiency in sport psychology, or equivalent certifications.
  • Three years of demonstrable experience within the past five years.
  • Ability to pass and maintain Tier 1 clearance.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Capability to lift and manipulate loads up to 25 kilograms and meet physical demands of training with Soldiers.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English effectively with Soldiers and H2F staff.
  • Ability to operate Microsoft applications, such as Word and Excel, and navigate SharePoint sites.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Consultant through the Association for Applied Sport Psychology (CC-AASP) or Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC).
  • Experience advising unit commanders on cognitive enhancement programs.
  • Experience identifying and cultivating mental skill sets for Soldiers.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a comprehensive, periodized education and services program integrated with BDE and Battalion training calendars.
  • Manage and provide education based on cognitive performance and tailored training programs for individuals and teams.
  • Assist and advise the CPS Program Director on mental performance, exercise, and sport psychology matters.
  • Provide information on mental performance factors in sports, exercise, and physical activity.
  • Train and educate on goal setting, performance profiling, visualization, performance development, and planning.
  • Participate in meetings to review human performance training and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with H2F Performance Team staff to enhance mental and human performance development.
  • Conduct literature reviews to stay current with care provision.
  • Support research in coordination with CPS PD and/or BDE PD.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining practice guidelines for service consistency across the BDE.
  • Attend required training and develop training materials for non-physical performance optimization.
  • Collect and report data in support of cognitive performance optimization.
  • Document work performed and recommendations in the designated H2F System reporting database.
  • Operationalize resilience core competencies and address mental barriers to physical performance.
