About The Position
Join The Coffee Oasis as a Full-Time Coffee Roaster/Wholesale Representative in Bremerton, WA, and immerse yourself in the world of specialty coffee. You'll engage in the quality assurance of our premium coffee products while collaborating with fellow coffee enthusiasts. At a competitive pay range of $24.00 to $26.00 per hour, you will contribute to our mission of compassion and community. A little about us The Coffee Oasis is a Christian non-profit organization that exists to create pathways of opportunity for youth to be restored in heart, soul, mind, and body. We believe youth are the future of our community, but many are hurting, homeless, and hindered from living their full potential. The Coffee Oasis youth programs offer a place for the community to invest in our future youth. We do this through creating safe shared spaces, mentorship, street and school outreach, goal setting, job training, shelter, and crisis services. The only way for our mission to succeed is through the support of the entire community-intentional inter-generational and cross-cultural investment. We accomplish this mission through a sustainable and successful coffee business. The cafés offer a "third place" for the community to gather and buy products with the added value of all profits returning to create opportunities for youth. A day in the life as a Coffee Roaster/Wholesale Representative As a Coffee Roaster and Wholesale Representative at The Coffee Oasis, your day-to-day expectations will involve a blend of hands-on coffee roasting and engaging sales responsibilities. You'll start each morning by participating in quality assurance checks of our specialty coffee, ensuring that each batch meets our high standards. Throughout the day, you will roast coffee beans, monitor the production process, and maintain equipment to guarantee optimal roasting conditions. You will also interact with existing wholesale clients, assisting them with orders and inquiries, while actively seeking opportunities to expand our customer base. Your role will include organizing and managing inventory, contributing to a seamless production flow. Your schedule will be Monday to Friday, allowing you to balance your passion for coffee with a structured work-life schedule. Requirements
- In full agreement with The Coffee Oasis Core values, mission, and Jesus Statement.
- Previous coffee/café experience of 3 years is required.
- Passion for coffee and roasting.
- Previous coffee roasting experience of 2 years is required.
- Strong customer service skills and ability to build relationships.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Alignment with The Coffee Oasis' mission and core values.
- Able to quickly and efficiently problem solve.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move bags of coffee and supplies, weighing up to 50–70 lbs.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, often the majority of a shift.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as scooping, bagging, weighing, sealing, and operating equipment.
- Ability to bend, reach, kneel, and climb step-stools or short ladders as needed.
- Ability to work in an environment with heat, cold, smoke, strong aromas, and moderate noise.
- Ability to use hands and fingers for handling small tools, adjusting equipment, and performing precision tasks.
- Ability to safely operate or move carts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment.
