About The Position
The professionals in this category of sales are directly responsible for assisting guests and stocking merchandise. We provide exceptional guest service, great prices, and an extensive selection of products in a fun and exciting environment. We are in search of dynamic, energetic, guest-focused team members to provide exceptional service to our customers. The ideal candidates will have previous retail experience as well as coffee, beer, spirits, wine, and tobacco knowledge; be friendly, motivated, self-driven and courteous team members that are willing to go the extra mile and make a memorable experience for every guest. Schedules will vary, but you must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, including Thanksgiving Eve, Christmas Eve, and New Years Eve. The Coffee Bean & Roasting Specialist at Spec’s is responsible for maintaining a well‑organized, fully stocked coffee department; managing inventory of whole beans, grounds, and roasting supplies; monitoring freshness and quality; rotating products using FIFO; labeling and packaging roasted beans; and ensuring all roasting equipment and work areas remain clean, safe, and compliant with food‑handling standards, while also providing knowledgeable, friendly assistance to customers seeking information about coffee varieties, roast levels, and brewing methods. Ideal candidates are detail‑oriented, comfortable working in a fast‑paced retail environment, able to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and bring a positive, team‑focused attitude; experience with coffee roasting and knowledge of specialty coffee products is helpful.
