Job Summary: Prepares, serves, and sells high quality coffee and refreshments in a customer-focused venue. Responsible for preparation of gourmet food items and artful display / merchandising to promote refreshment sales. Demonstrate respect, dignity, kindness and empathy in each encounter with all patients, families, visitors and other employees regardless of cultural background.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Certification as a Food Service Manager in applicable state within six (6) months of employment / promotion
  • Previous retail foodservice experience
  • Wait staff, host / hostess / maitre’d
  • Cash register operation
  • Proven track record in customer service

Responsibilities

  • Set up fresh, eye appealing displays that promote sales for the bistro.
  • Stock all food and supplies to meet the needs of the unit.
  • Act as a liaison for the Nutrition Department and St. Elizabeth Healthcare when serving customers and associates.
  • Process orders accurately and offer assistance as needed.
  • Communicate in a professional caring manner when serving customers.
  • Efficient handling of cash register duties and follow proper accounting and cash handling practices to provide accuracy with all transactions, and follow all opening and closing procedures
  • Assemble and prepare food items for the bistro, physician lounge and café as required.
  • Operate and maintain bistro equipment.
  • Report any equipment concerns and repair needs in a timely manner.
  • Compliance with all local, state, federal and medical center regulatory, safety, sanitation and security standards.
  • Participate in performance improvement (PI) studies; assist with data collection and supports action plans.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
