Requirements

• Some college education is desired.
• Prior lab experience, particularly in pilot plants.
• Experience in food preparation or manufacturing.
• Eager to learn and passionate about coffee.
• Willingness to taste coffee and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks as assigned for required testing.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow directions fully.
• Ability to collect data accurately and work independently when necessary.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Any additional experience in coffee, food manufacturing, or granulation technology is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Grind, batch, brew, filtrate, and process coffee extractions using prescribed recipes or DOEs.
• Assist with quality analysis and tasting setups, executions, and cleanups.
• Maintain accurate inventory levels of raw materials (Green & Roasted coffee) for experimentation and quality analysis.
• Assist with lab analytical testing as prescribed by food scientists.
• Prepare samples as assigned by scientists.
• Organize and clean the lab, providing necessary support.
• Prepare, start up, and shut down equipment independently after training.
• Move products and required documentation through different parts of the facility.
• Suggest process improvements as opportunities are observed.
• Operate material handling equipment as necessary (no certification required).
• Package and ship materials as requested by food scientists.
• Comply with food safety and quality requirements.
