About The Position

The MS/JH Track Coach leads athletes in running, jumping, and throwing events while promoting safety, teamwork, and Christian values.

Requirements

• Coaching or competitive track experience preferred
• Understanding of basic techniques across events
• Great recruiter/retention skills for your program
• Agreement with TPCS Athletic Purpose Statement, which reads: Traders Point Christian Schools is committed to developing and maintaining an athletic program that is Christ-centered, comprehensive, and competitive, and allows each athlete a unique venue to be a witness for Christ by using his or her God-given talent to move and play
• Will to run successful summer camps
• Strong leadership and communication abilities
• Must provide proof or be willing to take CPR training
• Must pass a background check

Responsibilities

• Teach track and field fundamentals
• Ensure safety during practices and meet
• Promote sportsmanship and Christian character
• Maintaining communication with administration, parents, and varsity staff is essential
• Maintain equipment properly
• Plan team banquet and awards
• Follow inventory check-in & check-out policies with uniforms
• Reports all game results to staff by 8:00 a.m. the day after the contest finishes.
• Supervise athletes at all times, until the last one leaves any organized event that the team is a part of
• Other duties as assigned
