About The Position

The Coding Supervisor at Newport Square Professional Center is responsible for assisting the Coding Manager in the daily supervision of the coding team. This role involves directing the team on work prioritization, addressing coding queries, and communicating effectively with providers to resolve issues. The supervisor will also analyze problems and communicate them to management, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality coding standards.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED (Required)
• Bachelor's Degree in a related field (Preferred)
• 5-6 years of recent experience in professional medical coding (Required)
• Experience with iCare/EPIC (Required)
• Supervisory experience, with completion of Riverside Emerging Leader Academy counting for 1 year of experience (Preferred)
• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Outpatient Coder (COC) upon hire (Required)
• Secondary coding specialty certification with 2+ years of active team lead experience (Required)

Responsibilities

• Assist the Coding Manager with daily supervision of Coders.
• Direct the team on prioritization of work based on volumes in assigned work queues.
• Fill in gaps with coding and coding queries as needed.
• Analyze and communicate problems to the manager.
• Communicate with providers to resolve problems and concerns.
