About The Position

This position is remote but may occasionally require in-person reporting to DFW. The work hours are Monday to Friday during the day. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare admin or HIM related REQUIRED or Associate's Degree in Healthcare admin or HIM related with 2 Years Relevant experience in lieu of Bachelor's Degree REQUIRED or H.S. Diploma or Equivalent with 7 Years Relevant experience in lieu of degree REQUIRED.
  • 3 Years of experience with Bachelor's Degree in coding (charge capture and coding denials) and billing of professional services (Part B) healthcare experience REQUIRED or 5 Years with Associate's Degree or 7 Years with High School Diploma.
  • 2 Years Managing a team or as a lead preferred.
  • CPC - Certified Professional Coder Upon Hire REQUIRED or CCS-P - Certified Coding Specialist - Physician-based Upon Hire REQUIRED.

Nice To Haves

  • Other Advanced or specialty coding credentials (e.g. CPMA) and/or Billing (e.g. CPB) Upon Hire preferred.
  • Preferred Knowledge of EPIC's electronic medical record and practice management system.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures success of CRD initiatives through oversight of day to day operations.
  • Provides staff support and training as well as WQ back up as needed. Monitors WQ volumes and ageing to ensure that team stays within department KPIs.
  • Assists with ongoing analysis of routing rules, charge review/claim edits and denials to improve efficiencies and clean claims as well as reduce coding related denials.
  • Ensures compliance with federal and local regulations and payor reimbursement policies as related to coding and billing.
  • Works with the CRD Director to develop and implement performance goals and objectives.
