Coding Specialist (Medical Coder)

Now, we’re looking for a detail-oriented Medical Coder to join our team and help us ensure precision, compliance, and excellence in medical coding and reimbursement. Compensation: Based on experience: Low Range: Entry-level experience with foundational skills. Mid Range: Solid experience with demonstrated proficiency. High Range: Extensive experience with a proven track record of success. Pay will be evaluated based on experience, skills, and qualifications during the hiring process. Work Arrangement: Hybrid Role! The first 90 days will be in-office for training. After that, enjoy a flexible schedule with 2 days in the office & 3 days remote per week!
Requirements
- 5+ years of medical coding experience
- 2+ years’ experience coding for physicians or surgeons
- Medical terminology & anatomy expertise
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel & Word
- Fast & accurate data entry skills
- Superior communication skills – written & verbal
- Ability to work independently & in a team
Nice To Haves
- Certified coder (CPC, CCS, CCA, etc.)
- Advanced Excel knowledge!
Responsibilities
- Accurately review, code, and input diagnoses & procedures using ICD-10 and procedure codes
- Ensure coding compliance across multiple medical specialties
- Collaborate with billing teams to facilitate timely payments
- Analyze and resolve insurance denials related to coding issues
- Conduct audits & coding reviews to maintain the highest standards
- Provide expert guidance to leadership and staff on coding best practices
- Stay updated on industry regulations to ensure compliance
- Work in a high-volume coding & collections environment while maintaining quality
