About The Position

The Provider Coding Educator performs highly complex and detailed coding education and auditing and will serve as a liaison between providers and the Coding and Compliance team in WA/MT. This position meets with leadership and providers to develop the relationship between the Coding Educator regarding coding, compliance, and documentation quality and to address sensitive issues and compliance concerns that may arise. This position will need to work closely with the PBO Billing team, as well as all physicians, non-physician providers, compliance personnel and coding and billing staff. Requirements

  • National Certification from American Academy of Professional Coders upon hire.
  • National Certified Coding Associate - American Health Information Management Association upon hire.
  • National Certified Coding Specialist - American Health Information Management Association upon hire.
  • National Certified Coding Specialist - Physician - American Health Information Management Association upon hire.
  • National Certified Documentation Improvement Practitioner - American Health Information Management Association upon hire.
  • National Certified Health Data Analyst - American Health Information Management Association upon hire.
  • National Registered Health Information Administrator - American Health Information Management Association upon hire.
  • National Registered Health Information Technician - American Health Information Management Association upon hire.
  • 7 years progressively responsible health care experience in a multi-specialty physician group practice.
  • Extensive experience with CPT, ICD-10 and HCPCS coding.

Nice To Haves

  • 8 years progressively responsible health care experience in a multi-specialty physician group practice with extensive experience in surgical coding, documentation guidelines and chart auditing and fluency in CPT, ICD-9 and HCPCS coding.
  • 2 years experience in Provider Coding Education.
