About The Position

Audit Records: Perform coder audits based on the established system plan. Report Results: Distribute audit findings to the appropriate stakeholders. Improvement Plans: Create corrective actions for coding, billing, and documentation issues. Trend Analysis: Identify patterns to find specific educational needs. Education & Support: Present training programs and help manage high-risk compliance monitoring.

Requirements

  • Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) credentialed from the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) preferred. Licensure required relevant to state in which work is performed.
  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC) credentialed from the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) preferred. Licensure required relevant to state in which work is performed.
  • Reg Health Info Admnstr credentialed from the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) preferred. Licensure required relevant to state in which work is performed.
  • Reg Health Info Tech credentialed from the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) preferred. Licensure required relevant to state in which work is performed.
  • High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Technical degree required.
  • 1 year of experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • 5 or more years of experience in coding and 2 or more years experience in auditing healthcare
  • CPC or CPS or CPMA certification
