The Outpatient Coding and Clinical Documentation Integrity Specialist at Mosaic Life Care serves as an internal resource for professional services coding and documentation education.   • Act as an internal resource for professional services coding and documentation education.
  • Perform medical records audits to ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
  • Provide coding and documentation support to providers through video calls and on-site visits.
  • Create specialty or individual provider tip sheets and conduct presentations.
  • Guide providers on reporting policies mandated by government entities and payers.
  • Analyze data and communicate findings to facilitate improvement efforts.
  • Develop and maintain educational materials and training programs.
  • Educate new clinicians during their onboarding process.
  • Review documentation practices of existing clinicians for accuracy and compliance.
  • Provide education on changing guidelines and practices due to new legislation.
  • Attend Revenue Cycle meetings to identify educational opportunities.
  • Collaborate with coding leadership and denial teams to address educational needs.
  • Conduct audits of clinicians dropping charges and orders.
  • Associate's Degree in a healthcare-related field is required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a healthcare-related field is preferred.
  • RHIA (Registered Health Information Administrator) certification is required.
  • RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician), CCS-P, CPC certification is required.
  • CPMA (Certified Professional Medical Auditor) certification to be obtained within two years of hire is preferred.
  • CDEO (Certified Documentation Expert Outpatient) certification to be obtained within two years of hire is preferred.
  • CCDS (Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist) certification to be obtained within two years of hire is preferred.
  • CDIP (Certified Documentation Information Practitioner) certification to be obtained within two years of hire is preferred.
  • 3 years of experience in Physician/Professional Service coding is required.
  • Experience with electronic software tools such as Epic, SlicerDicer, and 3M.
