Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or 3+ years of extensive chargemaster/or CDM/coding experience in the assessment and integrity of billing, CDM and/or revenue integrity requirements.
  • Extensive hospital experience and/or knowledge of hospital and ambulatory Medicare coding & billing guidelines.
  • Advanced analytical and interpretation skills associated with U.S. healthcare regulatory documentation.
  • Ability to research, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and complex governmental regulations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Edge.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and strong focus on quality.
  • Efficient time management skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment that requires quick turnaround and quality output.

Nice To Haves

  • AAPC or AHIMA certification (COC, CPC, CCS) or other appropriate clinical degrees and/or certifications (RN, CRCR).
  • Microsoft Office certification.
  • Experience using Microsoft Access.

Responsibilities

  • Provide chargemaster (CDM) and coding expertise to facilitate understanding of federal and local coding and billing regulations.
  • Maintain and ensure reliable proprietary content and compliance recommendations across FinThrive Solutions.
  • Evaluate and provide operational improvements in business processes related to billing, CDM, and clinical coding integrity.
  • Understand the designated hospital charge structure and develop recommendations for content across FinThrive products.
  • Perform quarterly, annual, and as needed research associated with the development and maintenance of proprietary coding and compliance related content.
  • Research and develop coding requirements associated with CPT/HCPCS codes, revenue codes, modifiers, and other regulatory updates.
  • Develop, maintain, and QC proprietary content data that occurs off-cycle, quarterly, and annually.
  • Perform quality review as designated by policy and procedures to ensure accurate and reliable content.
  • Coordinate, manage, and plan designated projects in collaboration with other departments to achieve projected deadlines.
  • Conduct audits to ensure content data integrity and compile audit statistics and summary analysis monthly.
  • Compile statistics associated with proprietary content updates and other designated work.
  • Attend customer meetings as required as a compliance and content subject matter expert.
  • Respond to customer compliance-related questions via SalesForce cases and partner queries within three business days.
  • Assist in training other team members regarding coding and compliance.
  • Actively participate in departmental and company-wide meetings.
  • Adhere to all departmental and company-wide policies and procedures.
  • Assist manager with daily operations as needed.
  • Promptly report content issue and/or data display issues to the team manager.
  • Become knowledgeable of internal controls responsibilities through training and ongoing instruction.
  • Assist with internal control failure remediation efforts.
  • Cross-train in other coding and compliance department areas as needed.
