About The Position

The Codes and Testing Specialist will oversee all activities related to local and industry approvals of Polyglass materials for use in the residential and commercial roofing markets. Approvals include individual materials or systems comprising Polyglass and other compatible roofing materials.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related architectural, engineering or science field from a four-year college/university or relevant work experience of 8 years.
• This position requires knowledge of product testing and governing Building Codes related to the roofing and waterproofing industries.
• Requires a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
• Requires the ability to work with a personal computer in a Windows environment.
• Requires proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Nice To Haves

• Microsoft Project and Microsoft Access proficiency a plus.
• AutoCAD proficiency a plus.
• RRO preferred. RRC a plus.

Responsibilities

• Participates in the Code Approval process by analysis of Polyglass products and competitor systems to obtain system approvals that maximize the position of Polyglass in all potential marketplaces.
• Organizes and coordinate all Code and product testing activities for the department and most specifically the Codes and Compliance Manager.
• Participates with all Code approval projects and budgets with testing agencies Nationally and Internationally. (FM, UL, Miami-Dade, ICC, etc.)
• Constructs and/or arrange for materials, construction, and oversee all performance testing of material test decks and assemblies.
• Works with all Code approval agencies to ensure compliance as directed by immediate Supervisor.
• Works as directed with Private Label customers to provide desired results of Polyglass manufactured products.
• Conforms with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, safety rules, and instructions.
• Performs other duties as required.
