About The Position

The Coder I Health Information Management is responsible for coding all ED, OP and clinical patient types as directed.

Requirements

• Minimum one (1) year of coding experience in a Health Information Management Department.
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Thorough knowledge of ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal relationship and collaboration skills.
• Excellent analytical and organization skills; excellent critical thinking, judgment, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient skills in Microsoft Office e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
• Hands-on troubleshooting abilities of complex problems.
• Certified Coding Associate -(CCA) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT).

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of 3M encoder, SoftMed Abstracting System, and Cerner HER.
• Registered Health Information Admin (RHIA).
