About The Position
The City of Cocoa Beach is seeking a Code Enforcement Officer for the Development Services Department. Under general supervision, the officer will be responsible for enforcing the City Codes as outlined in the City Code of Ordinances, Land Development Code, and Chapter 30. The role involves working closely with various departments, including Building & Permitting, Planning & Zoning, and the Police Department, to address violations of City Codes. The officer will handle complaints, investigate code violations, and prepare cases for hearings. Additionally, the officer will implement and administer the City’s Civil Citation Program, which may involve issuing citations for infractions. The position requires independent judgment to ensure compliance with codes and ordinances, and may involve skilled inspections and response to disasters as needed. The officer reports to the Deputy Development Services Director.
