About The Position

The Code Enforcement Officer position at the City of Green Cove Springs involves enforcing compliance with various city ordinances and codes. Requirements

• Associate's degree in a related field.
• Three (3) years of experience in a law enforcement or code enforcement environment.
• Possession of Levels I and II Certification by the Florida Association of Code Enforcement (FACE).
• Possession of a valid Class 'E' Florida Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Conducts site visits to enforce City Ordinances, including junk vehicle ordinances, litter ordinances, and minimum housing codes.
• Calculates administrative fees and fines due to the City.
• Monitors adjudicated cases accruing fines and imposes liens as necessary.
• Visits sites to establish violations and contacts responsible parties.
• Cites violators when appropriate and prepares cases for judicial review.
• Locates and contacts responsible parties, performing necessary research.
• Prepares and presents code violations to the Special Magistrate.
• Testifies under oath on behalf of the City.
• Interacts with the public in a professional manner, providing information on policies and procedures.
• Makes presentations to civic groups and neighborhood organizations regarding various codes.
• Collaborates with other City offices and agencies to achieve code compliance.
• Conducts fence inspections.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
