About The Position

Responsible to serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to accommodate guests requests while maintaining legal and casino policies and procedures. In all interactions, the position is responsible for providing STAR Experience to guests and fellow team members a first priority.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or minimum of two months related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must meet the requirements as prescribed by the Tribal-State compact for gaming.
  • Must be 18 years of age prior to employment to meet statue guidelines.
  • Must attend Alcohol Awareness and Guest Service training as required.
  • Positive, engaging personality and professional appearance.
  • You should be a skilled multi-tasker with a passion for guest satisfaction.
  • Knowledge and skills for use of the Micro (cash register) system.
  • Knowledgeable skills on handling difficult and disgruntled guests.
  • Ability to follow proper cash handling techniques.
  • Ability to remain good rapport with guests.
  • Knowledge of promotional programs offered by the casino at any given point of time.
  • Skill in basic math functions.
  • Skill of developing and maintaining positive relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as gaming controls and procedure manuals, safety rules, and operation and maintenance instructions.
  • Ability to follow procedure and give attention to detail.
  • Ability to frequently stand for long periods of time up to 8 hours.
  • Able to frequently walk for long periods of time up to 8 hours.
  • Ability to frequently twist.
  • Ability to frequently stoop or bend.
  • Ability to occasionally squat.
  • Ability to Frequently climb stairs.

Responsibilities

  • Operates Point of Sale system with knowledge and accuracy to ensure proper accounting and casino policies and procedures are followed.
  • Operates Point of Sale system to record transactions, collect payment (credit cards, cash, room charges, marketing coupons, etc.) and make change correctly for drinks directly served to guests.
  • Ensure proper cash handling techniques and balancing of monies during and at end of shift.
  • Accounts for shortages and overages accrued during shift.
  • Ensure all sales are entered at time of preparation/order.
  • Ensures all beverages are received from bartender; does not self-serve behind bar.
  • Maintain sanitized procedures according to I.H.S. (Indian Health Services) standards.
  • Follows departmental sanitization procedures. Ex. Test strips, towels in sanitized water, ice scoops, etc.
  • Maintain table appearance by pre-bussing, checking drink levels, changing ashtrays, removing clutter, and providing napkins.
  • Ensures assigned area is stocked and cleaned throughout and at the end of shif.t
  • Report any unsafe working conditions to immediate Supervisor.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as required or assigned.
  • Helps other areas when needed.
