SUMMARY The Cocktail Server (“Servidor de Cócteles”) provides a courteous, timely and professional service in the restaurant, shows complete knowledge of all menus and pricing, as well as a proactive, customer oriented attitude.

Requirements

  • At least 1-2 years of relevant experience and/or training. A combination of experience, education, and/or training may be substituted for either requirement.
  • Previous similar position in a hotel, high-volume upscale bar, or similar business entity preferred.
  • Availability to work on weekends and holidays is required.
  • Must be able to attain a valid San Diego County Food Handler certification upon hire. Evans Hotels will provide this training and is to be completed at the company’s expense.
  • RBS Certification required.
  • Ability to always maintain a friendly, professional, team-oriented, positive demeanor and diplomatic attitude, especially under stress or challenges.
  • Ability to stand, kneel, squat for prolonged periods of time, up to and including, the entire shift and lift up to 25 lbs.

  • Previous similar position in a hotel, high-volume upscale bar, or similar business entity preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serves and promotes food and beverage sales.
  • Accurately takes and enters food and beverage orders for guests.
  • Cordially and professionally presents menu, answers questions, and makes suggestions regarding food and service.
  • Follows cash and credit card handling policies at all times.
  • Handles checks and processes payment, including cash transactions, credit card payments and room charges.
  • Stocks and cleans server stations in back of house as assigned.
  • Executes preparation for garnishes and sauces.
  • Cleans and polishes wares for dining room.
  • Ensures a clean and properly set dining room.
  • Completes opening, closing and any assigned side work and duties.
  • Performs additional duties and responsibilities as directed by the leadership team.
