The Grill at Torrey Pines Located at The Lodge at Torrey Pines in La Jolla, The Grill embraces the nostalgia of cooking over an open fire. SUMMARY The Cocktail Server (“Servidor de Cócteles”) provides a courteous, timely and professional service in the restaurant, shows complete knowledge of all menus and pricing, as well as a proactive, customer oriented attitude.
Requirements
- At least 1-2 years of relevant experience and/or training. A combination of experience, education, and/or training may be substituted for either requirement.
- Previous similar position in a hotel, high-volume upscale bar, or similar business entity preferred.
- Availability to work on weekends and holidays is required.
- Must be able to attain a valid San Diego County Food Handler certification upon hire. Evans Hotels will provide this training and is to be completed at the company’s expense.
- RBS Certification required.
- Ability to always maintain a friendly, professional, team-oriented, positive demeanor and diplomatic attitude, especially under stress or challenges.
- Ability to stand, kneel, squat for prolonged periods of time, up to and including, the entire shift and lift up to 25 lbs.

Responsibilities
- Serves and promotes food and beverage sales.
- Accurately takes and enters food and beverage orders for guests.
- Cordially and professionally presents menu, answers questions, and makes suggestions regarding food and service.
- Follows cash and credit card handling policies at all times.
- Handles checks and processes payment, including cash transactions, credit card payments and room charges.
- Stocks and cleans server stations in back of house as assigned.
- Executes preparation for garnishes and sauces.
- Cleans and polishes wares for dining room.
- Ensures a clean and properly set dining room.
- Completes opening, closing and any assigned side work and duties.
- Performs additional duties and responsibilities as directed by the leadership team.
