About The Position

Salty's on Alki is starting the hiring process for Bar Servers for our upcoming Spring and Summer Season. This will be a part-time position to start and hours will increase as the days get warmer. Open availability, weekends and holidays required. If you are not available for weekends and holidays you will not be considered for this position, as these are the busiest days we have. As a Server you provide friendly, genuine, and responsive service to create an astonishing dining experience for all our guests. Each Table Host's primary objective is to exceed our guest's expectations so they will want to return again and again. We are looking for experienced seasoned Servers as well as those who have developed as solid foundation in full-service restaurant operations, have a base knowledge of spirits and wine, and who are looking to take the next step in their hospitality.

Requirements

Minimum of 2 years' high-volume full service experience.
A warm, friendly, and engaging personality.
Must have a basic knowledge of dining room service procedures and functions.
Have a working knowledge of beer, wine, liquor, and common drinks.
Possess basic math skills, cash handling procedures, and knowledge of Point-of-Sale system.
Must be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 5 hours).
Must be able to safely lift and easily maneuver trays of food frequently weighing up to 20 to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

Take beverage orders from guests and servers.
Serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks consistent with the restaurant's standard drink recipes
Learns the names and personally recognize our regulars.
Record drink orders accurately and immediately input order into the point of sales system.
Accept guest payment, process credit card charges, and make change (if applicable).
Wash and sterilize glassware.
Maintains bottles and glasses in an attractive and functional manner to support efficient drink preparation and promotion of beverages.
Clear and reset tables in bar area'work outside bar if needed.
Present drink menus, make recommendations, and answer questions regarding beverages and food.
Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the bar including counters, sinks, utensils, shelves, and storage areas.
Receive and serve food orders to guests seated at the bar.
Report all equipment problems and bar maintenance issues to restaurant manager.
Assist the restocking and replenishment of bar inventory and supplies.
Greet guests who pass within 5ft.
