About The Position

Slate NY is a 16,000-square-foot, upscale "adult playground" and event venue in Chelsea, Manhattan,featuring a nightclub atmosphere, a 20-foot slide, and diverse gameslike bowling, ping-pong, and billiards. Located at 54 W 21st St, ithosts corporate events, private parties, and nightlife, offering achef-driven menu and, notably, New York City's largest HD screen Slate NY is searching for a customer-facing hospitality workerwho takes and delivers beverage and food orders, relays requests to barand kitchen staff, processes payments, maintains service areas and usescustomer-service, memorization, teamwork and legal-compliance skills toensure a positive dining or bar experience. Essential skills include,math, patience, physical stamina, memorization and teamwork.

Requirements

• Prior experience in a fast-paced food-service or bar environment is highly preferred.
• Strong multitasking abilities, excellent communication, and proficiency in POS systems.
• Comprehensive knowledge of cocktails, wine, beer, and spirits.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods and carry heavy trays in crowded, dimly lit environments.

Responsibilities

• Greeting guests warmly, answering questions about the menu, making recommendations, and ensuring guest satisfaction.
• Taking accurate drink (and sometimes light food) orders and delivering them efficiently.
• Checking identification for age verification, monitoring for intoxication, and adhering to all local alcohol service laws.
• Stocking service stations, cleaning tables and trays, and managing inventory.
• Processing payments, using POS systems, and managing cash/credit card transactions.
