About The Position

We are seeking an experienced COBOL Developer to join our global organization, working on IMEX, our back-office Trade Finance system supporting banking customers worldwide. In this role, you will be part of a global team that combines feature development and customer support responsibilities, with team members involved in both areas as part of their day-to-day work. You will collaborate closely with project managers and team leaders, contributing to product enhancements while supporting live customer environments. This is an opportunity to work in a stable, production-critical banking environment, as part of globally distributed teams across Israel, India, and Singapore, using Mainframe, UNIX, and Linux platforms.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience as a COBOL Developer (mandatory).
  • Strong experience working with Mainframe, UNIX, and Linux environments.
  • Solid knowledge of SQL and relational databases such as DB2, Oracle, or PostgreSQL.
  • Proven experience developing batch programs and online or transactional programs.
  • High level of English, both written and spoken.
  • Ability to write code independently and take ownership of development tasks.
  • Ability to perform in a global company, in a multi-cultural environment
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively
  • Strong work ethic, proactive, self-motivated, and results-driven
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Proficient in spoken and written English

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with banking systems and Trade Finance solutions.
  • Knowledge or experience with Java.
  • Experience with CICS and container-based technologies such as Docker.
  • Experience working in international or global companies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain COBOL-based systems supporting Trade Finance products.
  • Contribute to new feature development as part of ongoing product evolution.
  • Support live customer environments, including investigation and resolution of production issues.
  • Participate in system implementations and post-implementation support activities.
  • Develop and maintain batch and online transactional programs.
  • Communicate with international customers in English, primarily through written communication.
  • Work closely with project managers, team leaders, and globally distributed development teams.
