About The Position

The Cobol Mainframe Developer, AVP, is an intermediate-level position focused on the establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs. Requirements

  • 5-8 years of relevant experience in systems analysis and programming of software applications.

  • Ability to perform effectively under pressure and manage deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct feasibility studies, estimate project timelines and costs, and manage IT planning and risk technology aspects.
  • Lead the development and implementation of new or revised applications to meet specific business needs.
  • Oversee all phases of the development lifecycle, including analysis, design, construction, testing, and implementation.
  • Provide user and operational support for business applications.
  • Utilize deep expertise in application development to analyze complex problems, evaluate business and system processes, and apply industry standards.
  • Recommend and implement security measures post-implementation to ensure system design and functionality.
  • Collaborate with users, clients, and other technology groups to recommend advanced programming solutions and assist with customer-facing systems.
  • Ensure adherence to essential procedures and define operating standards and processes.
  • Mentor and advise junior analysts.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for senior stakeholders and team members.
  • Exercise independent judgment and autonomy with limited supervision.
  • Assess and mitigate risks in business decisions, safeguarding the firm's reputation and ensuring compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Escalate, manage, and report control issues with transparency, demonstrating sound ethical judgment.
