About The Position

Cobb Sweetwater Poultry Farm Worker position involves various responsibilities including house clean out and wash down, breaking down and setting up house equipment, and general care of farm grounds. The role requires assisting with live haul, special projects, and caretaking of the house as needed. Responsibilities also include vaccinations, blood pulls, and managing vegetation and pesticide control on the farm. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 6 am to 2 pm or until finished, and is subject to change based on production needs.

Requirements

  • Must be willing to perform physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 30 pounds and occasionally lift up to 80 pounds.
  • Must be able to push or pull up to 500 pounds.
  • Must be willing to work in various environmental conditions including wet, dry, dusty, and cold environments.
  • Must follow all applicable safety policies and procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous agricultural or production experience preferred.
  • Reside in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with cleaning and disinfecting poultry houses and all equipment utilizing commercial pressure washer.
  • Operate equipment to remove litter and slats with Bobcat loader and tractor.
  • Move birds as required to laying houses, live-haul birds, and assist with weigh days and selections.
  • Vaccinations and blood pull as scheduled.
  • Ensure all HCO swabs are taken and labeled correctly.
  • Assist in activities at the University of Arkansas Processing Plant.
  • Assist in activities at the designated commercial hatchery on hatch day.
  • Mow, weed-eat, and brush-hog grounds.
  • Set up of poultry houses including shavings and spraying of pesticides and herbicides.
  • Inspect birds to determine quality and progress by weighing birds weekly.
  • Sanitation of breakroom, boot rooms, equipment, and vehicles.
  • Properly euthanize selected or weak/ill birds in accordance with company policy.
