The COB Support Assistant is responsible for researching and verifying Third Party Liability insurance and updates the state MMIS system.

Requirements

  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills; able to build effective relationships in person and by phone with internal and external clients.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized, maintaining 99%+ accuracy, meeting deadlines, adhering to attendance guidelines, and complying with corporate/office policies and HIPAA privacy and security rules.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, ImageNow, and other company software; able to navigate various websites and state Medicaid systems.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment, proactively identifying process improvements and gaining a general understanding of GWT and office operations.
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 1+ year of insurance verification experience and experience in a customer call center environment
  • Capable of extended computer use with average manual dexterity for PC, phone, and office equipment.
  • To work effectively as a teleworker or hybrid positions with Gainwell, employees must have a broadband internet connection with a minimum speed of 24 Mbps download and 8 Mbps upload. Higher speeds are recommended for optimal performance.

Responsibilities

  • Researches and verifies eligibility information via online lookups to carrier eligibility websites or by phone with various carriers and updates the state MMIS system.
  • Loads a minimum of 20-25 adds per day into the state MMIS system and terminates existing TPL insurance policies.
  • Answers incoming calls from providers, Medicaid recipients, and other entities in relation to private/commercial insurance.
  • Maintains an accuracy of 99% or above on all work activities per contractual obligation with state.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
