About The Position
Fiber Network Services is a communications contractor offering a full range of fiber optic and cable network services. Servicing Cox Communications, Comcast Cable, Segra and Suddenlink in the States of Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina, Tennessee, Florida, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and in Washington D.C., we are a trusted resource for cabling and maintaining high-speed internet connectivity via fiber optic and coaxial systems. We are currently seeking a Coax Splicer Trainee for our Salem, VA location, who is interested in starting a career in the growing communications industry. No prior experience is necessary —we will train you! This is a great opportunity for someone eager to learn a valuable trade, work in a hands-on environment, and grow with a company that supports your development.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Willingness and ability to travel regularly, including for emergency assignments
- Comfortable working at heights and in outdoor environments
- Able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check
- Clean driving record required
- Strong work ethic and desire to learn a skilled trade
Responsibilities
- Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of coaxial cable systems
- Work at heights, including on ladders or utility poles
- Respond to emergency service calls when needed
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies
- Operate company vehicles and equipment responsibly
