About The Position
New Kent Coatings, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and experienced Field Operations Manager/Superintendent to join our rapidly expanding team based in central Virginia. As a leading industrial coatings contractor, we specialize in blasting and specialty coatings across various industries, including petro-chemical, pharmaceutical, power generation, wastewater, and food manufacturing. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing multiple field jobs, ensuring quality workmanship, and fostering a motivated team environment. This position requires a personable and dependable individual with a strong background in industrial blasting and painting, as well as the ability to effectively interact with project leadership and customer representatives. In this role, the Field Operations Manager/Superintendent will be responsible for overseeing the execution of projects, from initial strategy discussions with company leadership and Project Managers to the successful completion of jobs. This includes determining the necessary materials, equipment, and talent required for each project, as well as managing existing jobs by collaborating with field foremen and ensuring that all team members have the resources they need. The FOM/Superintendent will also be tasked with maintaining high standards of quality workmanship throughout the project lifecycle, including during job closeouts. The successful candidate will have a minimum of five years of leadership experience in industrial blasting and painting, with a proven track record of managing projects valued at $100,000 or more. A deep understanding of the trade, including methods, materials, and equipment maintenance, is essential. The ability to remain calm under pressure, read people effectively, and foster teamwork is critical for success in this role. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with proficiency in typical job-related technology such as the MS Office Suite and CRM software, are also required. Candidates must reside within a short drive of our headquarters in New Kent/Charles City, VA.
