Coating Inspector – Samsung FAB-1 Taylor, TX Intertek, a leading provider of quality and safety solutions to many of the world’s top-recognized brands and companies, is actively seeking a Coating Inspector to support the Samsung FAB-1 project in Taylor, Texas. The Coating Inspector performs a variety of testing, project specific observations and site assessment duties under general supervision and/or from detailed controlled procedures. What you’ll do: Shift/Schedule: 8 hours/day, 7 am to 4 pm, OT allowed if approved by client. Perform visual inspections of coated surfaces to assess the quality of the coating application Use appropriate inspection tools and instruments, such as wet film thickness gauges, dry film thickness gauges, adhesion testers, and holiday detectors, to measure and evaluate coating thickness and adhesion. Review documents to verify the UL system materials and installation are compliant with manufacturer requirements and approved construction documents Conduct visual and destructive testing Provide specific inspection report for each inspection according to approved reporting method and means of Samsung project Work utilizing drawings, specifications, and diagrams Maintain detailed documentation and data from test results Use specific methods to observe site activities and perform tasks Make detailed observations, give limited interpretation, detailed documentation and data from test results Communicate effectively with client and project teams This position outline is a general guideline and does not represent all encompassing details. Requirements

  • 3 years of construction industry experience required
  • Must be a certified coating inspector with a minimum of two years of experience
  • Must be certified by NACE as a Level 2 Coating Inspector
  • Must have the ability to review and make judgements on the approved used materials, handling, and storing of the used materials, and the compliance of the installation with per procedure and project documents
  • Valid Driver's License and reliable driving record
  • Effective communication skills (written, verbal and listening) and solid interpersonal skills
  • Basic math, calculator, and computer skills
  • The ability to read and understand work plans
  • Must be able to work off shift and overtime as needed
  • Ability to lift, move, push and pull 30 to 50 pounds frequently; Occasionally, over 50 pounds with assistance
  • Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, (hearing) and to make the discriminations in sound
  • Ability to kneel and squat occasionally
  • Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions, including hot and cold temperatures
  • Ability to climb occasionally, and work at various heights
  • Ability to work over night hours and off shift

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • IFC or ICC Fire-Stopping Inspector certification
