About The Position

Turner Industries Group is looking to hire a Coating Estimator for work in Geismar, LA. The Coatings Estimator is responsible for the preparation of cost estimates. Will be required to provide analysis of isometric/equipment/structural drawings, specifications, and other documentation to produce estimates for projects or services. Non-exempt role; Reports to the Estimating Manager.

Requirements

• Technical training and/or industrial related estimating experience (5+ years).
• Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills, along with a strong attention to detail.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office or equivalent.
• Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team to complete estimates and proposals on multiple projects.
• Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others at the workplace.

Responsibilities

• Work the entire life cycle of a bid, from invitation to proposal submission, along with post-submittal support/clarification when required.
• Coordinate total estimating effort relevant to a particular bid/project as assigned.
• Ability to interpret specifications, drawings, attend pre-bid meetings, etc. to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.
• Prepare estimates by performing quantity takeoffs from drawings or quantities provided in a bid package for the scope of work.
• Prepare bid packages for vendors and suppliers.
• Assist in schedule preparation and analysis, execution plan development, and risk analysis.
• Maintain files of working documents as back-up for estimates.
• Ensure estimates are complete, well organized, and ready for management review.
• Assist the project team on awarded contracts as assigned - may include estimating extra work items, change orders, credits, etc.
