About The Position

PURPOSE Supervise, coordinate and lead the assigned Coater crew to ensure a safe working environment and to produce a quality product at efficient production levels when Shift Lead is not available.

Requirements

  • High School diploma
  • Knowledge of extrusion/ coating lines
  • Knowledge of safety procedures.
  • Knowledge of paper and film coating and finishing process, chemical properties, and quality standards
  • Good verbal communication, leadership, organization and mechanical skills
  • Ability to follow finished order specifications
  • Candidates must successfully pass pre-employment drug test, lifting evaluations and background checks.

Responsibilities

  • Operate manufacturing machinery in a safe, efficient, and productive manner to rewind and/or slit product according to customer specifications.
  • Use computer system to access orders, read and understand customer specifications, and set-up assigned machi9ne accordingly.
  • Understand machine operation and set-up including edge guide, splicing, threading machine, shears, tension adjustments, etc.
  • Package finished product (also according to customer specifications), with accuracy in weights, diameters and other measurements, labeling, pallet specifications, shrink wrapping, banding, etc.
  • Operate for lift, or other equipment as necessary.
  • Assure all quality checks have been performed, and product meets all customer specifications.
  • Assist co-workers and be willing to transfer to other duties if needed.
  • Ensure all company safety policies are followed
  • Direct production operations to assure that all standards of quality and manufacturing efficiency targets are met or exceeded.
  • Trouble shoot and correct quality issues.
  • Identify any problems in the production process and take corrective action as needed.
  • Communicate any production delays and/or problems to the management team.
  • Train production employees to achieve a primary operator status in a timely manner
  • Train staff to contribute to the efficiencies of department, division and corporate goals.
  • Ensure only qualified personnel are working on line at all times.
  • Ensure good quality products are always coming off the line.
  • Responsible for the daily housekeeping and the 6S of the area, ensure area is clean, organized, stocked and 6S'ed prior to end of each shift.
  • Review daily reports provided by Area Manager and Process Engineer
  • Follow machine setting (SOP) for every order to ensure all machine settings are correct
  • Complete all jobs according to work conditions provided in system
  • Complete Safety orientation for new employees
  • Promote Continuous improvements to the area
