About The Position

We have an immediate need for a Coater 1 for First Shift in our McBee, SC facility. This position will be responsible for a number of job duties, including setting up, changing over, monitoring, installing, and programming thermal spray coating equipment for painting and/or glassing products. The Coater 1 will also obtain and prepare necessary parts, equipment, tools, and materials, sand and paint components according to safety, quality, and production specifications, and provide direction, training, and guidance to new employees as needed. Key responsibilities also include maintaining and calibrating equipment, fixtures, and tools, keeping the work area clean and organized, following safety rules and quality requirements, and executing tests for development, implementation, and process stability. The role involves storing and identifying finished units, completing production paperwork, reporting problems to a production lead or supervisor, and wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE). The Coater 1 will also perform other duties and operate machinery as assigned by a Supervisor/Team Leader.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, change over, monitor, install and/or program thermal spray coating equipment for painting and/or glassing products
  • Obtain and prepare parts, equipment, tools and materials needed to complete tasks
  • Sand and paint components per required safety, quality and production specifications
  • Provide direction, training and/or guidance to new employees as required
  • Maintain and calibrate equipment, fixtures and tools per specifications
  • Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and organized condition and follow prescribed safety rules, quality requirements
  • Execute tests and trial coatings, etc. for development, implementation and process stability purposes
  • Store and properly identify finished units
  • Fill out paperwork related to production activity as required
  • Report problems with safety, quality, processes, equipment and materials to production lead or supervisor
  • Wear required PPE (steel-toed boots, safety glasses, ear plugs, and any additional PPE required for task being performed)
  • Perform other duties and operate machinery as assigned by Supervisor/Team Leader
