About The Position

This Position is for a Mechanical Engineer responsible for assisting the Mechanical Maintenance and Operations teams of the Coated Products Department of Big River Steel.

Requirements

• Demonstrated focus on safety and willingness to proactively apply it in a team environment.
• Quality and Detailed Oriented with strong Technical Background and Analytical Problem Solving Skills
• Reliable Team Player with good Communication Skills.
• Highly Motivated, Self-Directed, and willing to put in extra hours when needed.
• Experience in reading Mechanical Blueprints.
• Ability to use MS Excel, Word and Outlook proficiently.
• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Technical Certificates with equivalent experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Safety, Environmental, Quality requirements and “where applicable” ResponsibleSteel requirements are followed.
• Works with team to help resolve any design or Mechanical Engineering problems.
• Works with line Personnel to quickly initiate corrective actions and assist with performing any necessary changes, revisions or Modifications to line equipment or process.
• Prepares updates and summaries of problem areas or concerns.
• Regularly attends Team meetings to resolve any issues that arise.
• Works in Conjunction with Maintenance/Operations Managers in a team effort to complete projects on schedule and within or under budget.
• Works closely with contractors and site personnel to maintain a clean work environment.
• Assists in designing projects mechanical functionalities.
• Provides support to all team members in facilitating a seamless working relationship between all members of the Coating Department.
