About The Position

The Coastal Management Field Representatives at the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) are responsible for administering permit requirements under the Coastal Area Management Act (CAMA) and the Dredge and Fill law. This role involves significant outdoor work, including conducting on-site reviews of permit applications and coordinating with various divisions and state agencies to ensure compliance with environmental regulations. The position is based in the Wilmington Regional Office and aims to enhance environmental stewardship in North Carolina.

Requirements

  • Graduation from a four-year degree program in business administration, public administration, or a related area.
  • Five years of experience in the administration of a public or private program, with three years being supervisory in nature.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of coastal environmental resources.
  • Experience in resource management and/or environmental regulations.
