About The Position

Kimley-Horn has an opportunity for a motivated Practice Leader to expand our Coastal Waterfront and Ports practice in Jacksonville, Florida (FL)! This position leads business development efforts, manages relationships with key clients, and oversees all project tasks while mentoring the growth of younger staff. The Practice Leader has a great deal of autonomy to lead, direct, and grow their business, pursuing opportunities that fuel their professional passion and contribute to Kimley-Horn's success. Leadership responsibilities include growing and leading the Coastal and Waterfront Planning and Engineering practice, operating with integrity and sound business principles, providing vision, business planning and strategy, establishing goals, and building and maintaining positive client relationships. Open communication with partners and team members is essential.

Requirements

  • At least 15 years of experience managing coastal and waterfront projects.
  • Bachelor's degree, preferred Master's degree in coastal engineering or related field.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
  • Familiarity with marine and coastal engineering principles and practices and regulations.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and environmental compliance.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and technical skills.
  • Strong desire and ability to engage with clients in solving project problems.
  • Ability to effectively communicate positively at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to manage and mentor staff and direct resources effectively in a positive manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects profitably.
  • Experience writing proposals, scopes of work, and budgets for projected work.
