About The Position

The CRiSOL Mente Study coalition coordinator will be responsible for coordination and management of the Latino Health Collective (LHC). The LHC is one of the intervention elements of the CRISOL Mente study, a large Latino mental health program funded by the National Institute of Health. The purpose of this research is to address mental health needs among the Latino population in Philadelphia. The coalition coordinator will work closely with the study investigators, project manager, and other staff. This project is well-suited for individuals with some experience in public health research and community-engaged initiatives, and we welcome applicants who have lived experience. This position may requires some weekend and/or evening shifts. The coalition coordinator must have the ability to work independently from home or from the office at the Drexel School of Public Health. Some of the work may have to be conducted in Spanish.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a Master's Degree in Public Health, or related fields or the equivalent combination of education and work experience. ( Please review the Equivalency Chart for additional information.)
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience.
  • Available for flexible hours
  • Familiar with Latino community/population
  • Good/Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with community-engaged and/or coalition building in research studies is ideal.
  • Ability to work in MS Excel, REDCap (training can be provided)
  • Well organized and excellent attention to detail.
  • Able to use good judgement.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience advocating for community members of different backgrounds in different settings preferable
  • Experience assisting immigrants from disadvantaged backgrounds (e.g asylum seekers, victims of violence) preferable
  • Experience facilitating communication within interdisciplinary teams preferable
  • Possess excellent oral, written, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Must speak Spanish, bilingual (English-Spanish) is preferred.
  • Team oriented
  • Can work independently and has demonstrated complex problem-solving ability.
  • Willingness to be flexible to the evolving needs of the grant funded research projects.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating the monthly town halls: scheduling, preparing agendas, preparing and distributing minutes.
  • Maintaining communication with Latino Health Collective partners (weekly newsletter, emails, calendar invites)
  • Coordination of annual retreats.
  • Coordination of training events for Latino Health Collective partners (e.g. workshops).
  • Serves as liaison between the principal investigators and community resources and organizations.
  • Represent the Principal Investigators as needed to university and external audiences including community events, meetings with stakeholders, and conferences.
  • Assist the Principal Investigators in tracking activities and impact of the LHC, completing descriptive analysis, and producing brief reports, tables, and charts to describe the reach and impact of the collective.
