The Coaching Professional Development Subject Matter Expert (CPD SME) will play a pivotal role in directing the Command's Coaching Professional Development Program. This position is responsible for the overall direction, refinement, validation, and sustainment of the program, ensuring it is tailored to meet the Command's needs for both individual and organizational development. The CPD SME will provide leadership, advice, and assistance for various programs and projects aimed at enhancing leader and employee development across all management levels. In this role, the CPD SME will advise the Director of Command Support to increase effectiveness and productivity among individuals and work units within the command. A deep understanding of the Command's activities, philosophies, objectives, and culture is essential to assist leadership in clarifying specific objectives and developing strategies to achieve individual and organizational goals. The CPD SME will utilize a range of skills, specialized knowledge, and experience to serve as a coach, employing techniques such as active listening, empathy, and skilled questioning to build trust with leaders and command members navigating organizational changes. The CPD SME will maintain knowledge of the International Coaching Federation (ICF) program and pursue certifications in various personality, aptitude, and ability instruments critical for understanding and improving performance. Additionally, this role involves providing training and certification for unit-level trainers, facilitators, and coaches in teambuilding, self-awareness, and interpersonal relationship programs. The CPD SME will also oversee program coaches, providing supervision and mentorship to ensure they maintain current coaching competencies. Furthermore, the CPD SME will assist the government lead in developing and managing USSOCOM's civilian leadership and professional development course and program portfolio. This includes university-level executive development opportunities, individual employee professional development programs, and short-term courses, seminars, and symposiums relevant to leadership and professional development, including open-enrollment programs and targeted training in organizational development, leadership, communication, and supervision.
