Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in social work, human services, or related field AND one year experience with responsibility for child welfare case management.
  • A bachelor's degree in any field AND two years of experience managing a child welfare caseload.
  • An associate degree in any field AND three years of experience managing a child welfare caseload.

  • Demonstrated ability implementing the Child Welfare Vision for Transformation into daily practice.
  • Understanding of the Oregon Safety Model.
  • Demonstrated knowledge about crisis intervention, conflict resolution, behavior management, and the impact of trauma.
  • Experience successfully facilitating change, coaching and/or mentoring to support and maintain a psychologically safe environment for all.
  • Experience building collaborative relationships with peers, supervisors, and community partners.
  • Experience identifying problems and solutions through a trauma-informed and culturally responsive approach.
  • Experience obtaining and providing feedback in a constructive and professional manner.
  • Demonstrates professional qualities and leadership that will encourage growth, retention and a positive work culture.
  • Willingness to lead trainings & public speaking at various meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Provide instruction, demonstrate tasks, and observe skill level, behavior, developmental needs, and/or strengths of direct service staff and provide immediate feedback to supervisor and employee.
  • Conduct 1:1 coaching with direct service staff through observation, immediate feedback, and debrief discussions.
  • Coordinate and/or Lead group learning events on Child Welfare Practice topics.
  • Collaborate with program consultants and trainers on design, delivery, evaluation, and administration of training.
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative reviews of documentation and provide feedback and resources when necessary.
  • Participate in Children and Family Services Review (CFSR) as a reviewer.
  • Audit and review documentation for timeliness, completeness, accuracy, and fidelity.
  • Model engagement skills that foster collaboration with families and communities.
  • Model behavior that demonstrates ODHS’ CORE values and its values of Belonging.
  • Attend various meetings and workgroups including portions of Manager’s meeting.
