About The Position

The Fair Futures Coach is a full-time position that provides support and resources to help youth make progress towards their academic, career development, housing/independent living, and other life goals. The Fair Futures Coach will report directly to Fair Futures Coach Supervisor. The Fair Futures Coach will be responsible for: Coach Responsibilities: Provides ongoing social and emotional support by building trusting relationship with up to 18 youth as well as continuously assess for safety, addressing crises, to ensure the overall well-being of youth Provides one-on-one and group facilitation to develop life skills training, college preparation, & leadership training to youth Responsible for engaging youth in goal setting as it relates to academic, career, & housing Establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with colleagues, & stakeholders in the community to connect youth to resources Work to prepare youth as they transition out of FC by assisting with supportive services in the community as well as connect youth to best fit opportunities Work with discharged youth up to 26yrs old Participate in group, individual coaching, trainings, and all staff meetings to strengthen professional development, skill growth, & group cohesion Complete timely and accurate documentation of session progress and collateral notes in CONNXs, & Care4 database systems The New York Foundling is committed to attracting and retaining a diverse employee population, the Foundling will honor your experiences, perspectives and unique identity. Requirements

  • Demonstrated strong commitment to safety
  • 2yrs of relevant experience in child welfare, social services, or related field
  • Excellent writing, communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines, & prioritize multiple tasks efficiently
  • Ability to work with diverse population and work from a strengths-based, trauma-informed, youth development lens
  • Ability to receive and execute feedback to professionally grow and/or improve and be flexible with programmatic needs and changes
  • Knowledgeable in Excel, Word, TEAMS, Outlook & Power Point
  • Must be able to travel to meet youth in their homes, in the community and as needed
  • Bachelor's degree in social work, Psychology, Sociology or related field
  • Bachelor’s Degree from a U.S. accredited educational institution or Credential Evaluation for a non-U.S. educational institution

Responsibilities
