About the position

The CO-WY Engine Social Science Fellow will play a crucial role in supporting university and startup-based teams focused on climate resilience technologies. This position involves collaborating with leadership to enhance team science capabilities, ensuring that project teams are effective, inclusive, and collaborative throughout their lifecycle. The fellowship offers opportunities for interdisciplinary skill development, publication, and thought leadership in a dynamic and innovative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support team science across R&D, Translation, and Accelerator programs by assisting in the design and implementation of data collection, workshops, and coaching.
  • Conduct independent analysis of team science data collected from the first year of Engine investments to inform future R&D and Translation investment rounds.
  • Assemble and publish findings in peer-reviewed literature and present at relevant disciplinary and practice-oriented convenings.

Requirements

  • Doctoral degree in social sciences (PhD preferred) or Master's degree with relevant experience.
  • Experience in organizational psychology, sociology, or the science of teams.
  • Strong interest in climate resilience.
  • Experience with mixed-methods original data collection (surveys, focus groups/interviews, Social Network Analysis).
  • Proficiency in statistical and coding packages and data collection software (e.g., Qualtrics, NVivo, Gephi, Network Canvas, iGraph, R, Stata).
  • Experience in team facilitation and workshop design (preferred).
