We have an opening for a Co-Teacher at our IB campus. This individual will provide support to high school students. An SLCS teacher is responsible for planning, instruction, activities and assessments based on the SLCS curriculum. Teachers are tasked with creating an integrated instructional program that supports an inclusion-based learning approach fostering a safe environment that respects academic and cultural diversity. Additionally, teachers are expected to work together with other teaching and support professionals in a collaborative manner to provide teaching strategies and methods that address a wide range of learning styles, individual needs, interests, abilities, and maturity levels of students. Among other things, the Co-Teacher is responsible for: Assessing students’ developmental, cognitive, emotional and social needs, and learning styles; providing developmentally appropriate instruction to meet those needs Working collaboratively with classroom teachers to develop and implement developmentally appropriate instruction and activities that integrate, support, and expand the SLCS curricula Developing, monitoring, and reporting on all IEPs within the established guidelines Ensuring differentiated instruction, accommodations, modifications and other IEP considerations are occurring consistently as outlined in the IEP Acting as an advocate for all students to ensure that their needs are being met Evaluating student performance and sharing information with the classroom teacher, support teachers, and administration Working in cooperation with classroom teachers to identify students who may be at risk academically and/or behaviorally
