Lawrence High School is seeking a dynamic SPED ELA Co-Teacher to join a team of committed educators supporting diverse learners. The ideal candidate will co-teach four sections of English and lead one Academic Reinforcement class. The Co-Teacher will collaborate with general education teachers, Special Education staff, and ESL colleagues to ensure that all students receive the support and instruction necessary to achieve grade-level success. This role demands a commitment to inclusion, differentiated instruction, and a belief in the potential of every learner.

  • Co-teach four sections and lead one section of Academic Reinforcement
  • Align instruction to Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks and grade-level expectations
  • Collaboratively design and implement lessons and accommodations/modifications for students with IEPs
  • Implement and analyze formative and summative assessments to guide instruction
  • Meet weekly with content teams and interdisciplinary teaching cohorts
  • Collaborate with ESL and Special Education staff to differentiate instruction
  • Participate in biweekly instructional coaching and apply feedback to improve instructional practice
  • Serve as an academic advisor to a small cohort of students
  • Communicate weekly with families about student progress and engagement
  • Maintain accurate student records and progress monitoring documentation
  • Support the creation of a culturally responsive, inclusive classroom culture
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred
  • Valid Massachusetts DESE licensure in Moderate Disabilities (5-12) and English (5-12) preferred
  • SEI (Sheltered English Immersion) endorsement required
  • Passing MTEL scores in Communication and Literacy and subject-area knowledge tests
  • Minimum two years of experience teaching in urban public schools preferred
  • U.S. citizenship, residency, or valid work authorization required
