About The Position

The Program Coordinator for Radiation Oncology will provide essential support for the Radiation Oncology Department and Radiation Oncology Services, acting as an administrative assistant to the Medical Director. This role involves a variety of tasks aimed at promoting the goals and objectives of the program, ensuring smooth operations within the department, and facilitating communication among various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support for Radiation Oncology Services' physicians within the department of Radiation Oncology.
  • Work closely with the Cancer Center Director on special projects as assigned.
  • Interact with radiation oncologists, physicists, physician assistants, nurses, dosimetrists, radiation therapists, residents, and ancillary staff.
  • Process badging paperwork.
  • Submit service requests for Information Technology, Facilities/Maintenance, and Marketing.
  • Enter print requests to the Document Center.
  • Coordinate meetings for workshops, conferences, department meetings, and celebrations.
  • Maintain Radiation Oncology Services' credentialing files.
  • Facilitate credentialing and recredentialing for Radiation Oncology Services.
  • Initiate and coordinate activities for Radiation Oncology Services, including the completion of accreditation requirements.
  • Maintain the calendar for Radiation Oncology Services.
  • Coordinate shadow opportunities for clinical students, faculty, students, and volunteers.
  • Coordinate marketing for the group practice.
  • Arrange conferences, including reserving rooms, catering, and equipment.
  • Coordinate LSU fellows' Radiation Oncology rotation.
  • Provide day-to-day administrative support to the Medical Director.
  • Work closely with the Medical Director's nurse and physician assistants for scheduling.
  • Responsible for calendar and meeting coordination for the Medical Director.
  • Arrange professional conference registration, travel, itinerary, and expense reporting.
  • Maintain and update the Medical Director's CV.
  • Conduct PubMed research.
  • Submit monthly timesheet and activity report.
  • Renew professional memberships and monitor ASTRO Maintenance of Certification (MOC).
  • Process WK reappointments.
  • Enter and track CME activity in CE Broker.
  • Work closely with Radiation Oncology Services' accountant and WK accounting department.
  • Coordinate proton site visits, educational conferences, and workshops, including scheduling and logistics.
  • Enter Recommendation Letters (AAMC).
