We are looking for someone who is adaptable, maintains professionalism under stress, and is committed to connecting individuals with behavioral health treatment. As a Co-Responder, you will have the opportunity to engage directly with those in need, facilitating access to resources and support while ensuring their safety and well-being. Your role will help navigate the complexities of behavioral health care, paving the way for continuity of care within our community. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in related field required.
  • Must be able to pass a background check as required by Independence Police Department.
  • Current driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Must complete New Hire Orientation and all training requirements, including Relias.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree or higher is preferred.
  • Prefer crisis intervention experience.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Independence Police Department to conduct crisis intervention and respond to community needs.
  • Coordinate services and develop local systems of care for individuals with behavioral health challenges.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines and provide assistance during involuntary detention as necessary.
  • Document all interventions and ensure compliance with agency standards.
  • Attend conference calls, webinars, and required training sessions, while performing other duties as assigned by the Director of Crisis Services.
