CO RESPONDERS PROGAM MANAGER JOB SUMMARY: The Co-Responders Program is a collaborative service of the Claratel Behavioral Health and the local Police Department to respond to individuals experiencing a behavioral health crisis (mental health and/or substance use issues). The goals of the program are to provide crisis intervention services in the community, link individuals in crisis to community resources, reduce hospitalizations, and reduce arrests/incarceration for individuals in need of treatment. The Co-responders Program Manager provides oversight and manages the daily operations of the Claratel Co-responders program. The Co-Responders Program Manager is accountable for the actions of co-responder teams and holds co-responder team accountable for their actions. The Program Manager reports directly to the Clinical Director of Community Based Services and collaborates with other program managers within the community-based services department. The Program Manager supervises staff, fostering partnerships between agencies, and ensuring the program's success in de-escalating situations, connecting individuals to resources, and coordinating crisis intervention services. The Program Manager partners with community resources and law enforcement agencies to conduct homeless outreach and community engagement. The Program Manager provides on-site clinical assessment, crisis intervention, education and support, and coordinates follow up services and connects individuals and families to resources. The Co-responder program manages evaluates individual’s safety risk to self or others, determines if involuntary admission is needed and completes 1013 or 2013 as appropriate.

Requirements

Current license as a Licensed Professional Counselor or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LPC, LCSW) in the state of Georgia
At least 3 years of mental health / substance use disorder experience in assessment, crisis intervention and stabilization.
At least 1 year of supervisory experience
Knowledgeable about signs and symptoms of withdrawal and acute psychosis.
Must possess basic computer and typing skills.
Must be trained in CPI and have current CPR.

Nice To Haves

Psychiatric hospital, crisis stabilization unit, ACT team or co-responder experience.
3+ years of supervisory experience in mental health field

Responsibilities

Plans, organizes, and manages the day-to-day operations of the program.
Completes and submits all programmatic reports
Conducts weekly check-ins and monthly team meetings with staff and law enforcement partners
Trains, coaches, and holds co-responders’ staff (case managers and clinicians) accountable for actions while in the field, engaging with individuals, and partners
Supervises and provides guidance to co-responder staff (clinician, case mangers) who are responding to crisis in the field
Act as a primary liaison between law enforcement, behavioral health department, 911 dispatch, DRCC, and other community providers to ensure coordinated care
Builds and maintains professional collaborative working relationships with partners and stakeholders
Provides screening, clinical assessment, mental status evaluation, therapeutic intervention, clinical education and disposition with individuals and their families in the community in response to a behavioral health crisis call.
Evaluates individual’s safety risk to self or others and initiates 1013 or 2013 as appropriate.
Provides therapeutic de-escalation as needed.
Ability to work autonomously and make sound decisions based on standards of care/practice.
Ability to think quickly and effectively to address an emergency and follow through with appropriate interventions.
Assists in coordination with a receiving facility when it is determined that the individual needs crisis stabilization.
Make follow-up wellness calls and visits with clients in the community.
Completes electronic documentation for each call and follow-up visit.
Communicate effectively with clients who are high acuity or under the influence.
Always exhibits clear and professional communication with individuals, families/significant others, staff, and public safety officers.
Participate in rotating on-call schedule to provide telephonic support to officers in the field.
Perform duties from a recovery oriented, client centered, and trauma informed perspective
