Job Description Our Robotics division is seeking an enthusiastic mechanical engineering student wanting to get hands-on and make a difference. As a co-op you will be a member of the mechanical team and responsible for designing, building and testing prototypes. You will drive the execution of your specific project, and a team of electrical, mechanical, and software engineering experts will be available to mentor and support you along the way. Job Description Position Summary: The Mechanical Engineer Co-Op will be responsible for assisting the Product Development team with design and development of medical devices, as well as supporting sustaining engineering activities for launched products in the Trauma Portfolio. Requirements

  • Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or other relevant engineering discipline
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Outlook
  • Strong self-starting skills, well organized, detail-oriented and capable of working in a deadline driven environment
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Responsibilities

  • Designing and developing instruments and implants
  • Using CREO and VISIO software to update CAD models, engineering drawings, and manufacturing procedures
  • Working with in-house prototype shop and outside vendors for rapid prototyping and evaluation
  • Performing design verification and validation activities to ensure designs meet specifications
  • Collaborating with in-house engineers, surgeons, and outside vendors to ensure high quality products
  • Assisting with the creation of project plans and Design history Files (DHF) for each project
  • Partnering with engineers on all aspects of various projects
  • Assisting with marketing and product managers to develop forecasts and market plans
  • Ensures all systems are run according to manufacturer instructions, Safety requirements and guidelines, and SOPs
  • Adheres to the letter and spirit of the company Code of Conduct, the AdvaMed Code, MedTech Code, and all other company policies.
  • Ensures Compliance with applicable governmental laws, rules, and regulations, both in the United States and internationally, by completing introductory and annual training and maintaining knowledge of compliance as it applies to your role
