Saab Inc. is currently searching for self-motivated engineering students to work in our Syracuse, NY office to assist in system analysis, modeling and simulation, systems integration and test in the deployment of next-generation solutions for the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) Surface Surveillance Systems. This co-op opportunity will be for Summer 2026 (May-August). This is an exciting and challenging opportunity to work on a cutting-edge system that directly support the flight operations in the U.S. As a Co-Op Systems Engineer on the team, you will have the chance to work with a diverse group of internal and external team members, spanning numerous disciplines and all experience levels.

  • Work independently on routine tasks and with moderate guidance on new or complex tasks
  • Perform simple analysis of basic requirements
  • Perform modeling, simulation and trade studies using appropriate tools and technology
  • Present results/content to others
  • Contribute to professional, high-quality documentation
  • Assist in the design and documentation of the system configuration in accordance with the Saab and customer design standards
  • Enrollment in an accredited degree program, with a major in engineering or computer science
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better
  • US Citizenship Status
  • Must have completed Sophomore year or greater
  • Ability to work in a dynamic team environment
  • Ability to learn quickly through instruction, self-study, and practical application
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated, inquisitive, organized, flexible, and thorough
  • Clear, concise, and correct written and oral communication
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Competitive hourly rate of $20-$22/hr
  • Sign-on bonus to offset housing expenses for Co-Ops residing outside the typical office commuting distance
